Agui Temple

Aguimiao is located in the southwest of Zhun banner. There are more than 2000 mu of natural secondary forest in the reserve, which is the original vegetation area of Ordos ancient land. It is difficult to verify the architectural age of a GUI Temple group. Archaeological findings show that the architectural age of a GUI temple has a history of more than 1000 years, and it is the oldest temple group in Ordos and even Inner Mongolia. It embodies the wisdom of the ancient working people and the awe of the gods, which is of great significance to the study of religious activities in Inner Mongolia.

The clear water in the gully hangs silver chains from time to time, and the snow splashes jade. It meanders under the green jungle, just like a river covered with green. Along the winding path in the dense forest in the mountains, cross a simple and elegant stone arch bridge left by the Song Dynasty lying on the deep stream, and climb up the stairs. On the mountain, huge rocks in the shape of various animals and plants are hanging in the air, as if they will roll down at any time, which makes people fear. Path twists and turns, ups and downs in the flowers and plants, sometimes blocked by green grass, sometimes separated by rocks, sometimes surrounded by green trees.

After a few boulders, we reached the top of the mountain. The temples here are arranged at the highest level of Agui temple, which is also the location of the Temple group. From east to north, there are Wudao temple, Gongpu temple, Luohan temple, Guanyin cave and so on. What's amazing is that these temples were not built with civil bricks, but were chiseled on the huge rock wall according to the mountain potential. The sunken chambers made the statues of gods in different shapes. Luohan temple and Guanyin cave are suspended at the half waist of a huge wall. Only by climbing the steep steps in front of the temple can we enter the temple, showing the solemnity and majesty of the Holy Spirit. A GUI temple is named after this.

History and culture

Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can see the picturesque fairyland of Shujin township. In this green ocean, it's hard to believe that you are in the lush Ordos Plateau. More than 300 kinds of wild plants and dense primeval secondary forest are just like pearls inlaid on the laurel crown of Ordos. Agui temple is located in Langshan Mountain range in shajintaohai Sumu of Dengkou county. It is located in the ditch to the west of jilusi, the ancient city of Han Dynasty. It is the only temple of red religion Lama in Inner Mongolia. Mongolian means a temple with caves. It covers an area of 1500 mu. It was named "Zongcheng Temple" in the Qing Dynasty. It is a typical Tibetan architecture, with 981 main hall and accompanying hall built along the mountain. Agui Temple regards its founder, the Indian monk lianhuasheng, as its founder. A GUI temple was built in 1877 in the third year of Guangxu reign of emperor Dezong of Qing Dynasty. It was named "La Xi Ren Bu GA Ding Lin a GUI" in Tibet. It was changed into "Zong Cheng Temple" in Qing Dynasty. In 1912, a large plaque with four characters of Manchu, Mongolian, Tibetan and Han was hung. The hall is dedicated to the statue of Sakyamuni. In the chapel hall, there is the red sect's original Dharma and living image.

Agui temple is built near the mountain and across the water. The mountains are green and green, and the rivers are clear and jade is flowing. In front of the temple, there are clear streams and rippling blue waves. The surrounding mountains are full of colorful flowers, fragrant flowers, shady green trees, and birds are singing harmoniously. It is a natural geomantic treasure land. There are also many ancillary buildings around the Agui Temple: five peculiar natural caves, Agui cave, zhaga Shengbu kiln, darieke kiln, erdengzhu kiln and sangbugaribu kiln, all of which have become places for Buddhism.

Origin of Agui Temple

Agui is Mongolian, which means "cave". There are five natural caves on the cliff around Agui temple, which are Agui cave, Shengle diamond cave, Princess cave, shuilian cave and Dharma protector cave. It is a wonderful place with "one wonder, two seclusion, three heights and four dangers". There is a "holy spring" nearby, which is of great value for drinking and bathing. Caragana korshinskii, Overlord, Haloxylon ammodendron and other Psammophytes grow in the piedmont alluvial fan, which is listed as a natural forest reserve by the autonomous region. Along the foot of the mountain, there are famous Yinshan Rock Paintings, Qin Great Wall, Han tombs, chicken deer plug, Hongyang cave, fairy pool and other places of interest.
