Old Simon

Old Ximen is a place name in Shanghai. East to Fuxing East Road caojia street, South to Zhonghua Road Shangwen Road, West to Xizang South Road, north to Renmin Road. Yifengmen, the gate of the old county, is located at the intersection of Zhonghua Road, Fuxing East Road. It is located in the west of the city wall, so it is also called Laoximen.

After the road gate was abandoned, the residents still used to call this area Laoximen

. From 1914 to 1918, trams were used successively in the South and north of the city. The traffic status of Laoximen became more and more important. New buildings continued to be built. For example, Gonghe Grand Theater (now known as Zhonghua theater) was built in 1914, and various shops were opened successively. There were famous Tafu restaurant, Guanshengyuan food store, shibabaihuo store, Quantai clothing store and other shops, with a wide range of goods. It is a relatively popular place in the southern urban area Big business district. Old Ximen east along Fuxing Road ferry station to yangjiadu, West Fuxing Road, North and south for the ring road, is a traffic artery.
