Zhongguancun Forest Park is adjacent to aerospace city in the north, software park in the South and Jingxin Expressway in the East. It is a key construction project of plain afforestation project in Haidian District in 2013. The first phase of the project has a planned area of 2940 Mu and will be open to the public free of charge after completion.

The construction period of the whole park lasts for three years. After completion, it will echo with the original historical gardens of three mountains and five gardens (Wanshou mountain, Xiangshan Mountain and Yuquan mountain; Jingyi garden, Jingming garden, Changchun Garden, Yuanming garden and Summer Palace) in the west of Beijing, and become the "urban green lung" in the northwest of the city.

Park Planning

Zhongguancun Forest Park is located in Tangjialing, Haidian District, Beijing, with an overall planning area of 5100 mu, equivalent to the size of Yuanmingyuan. Among them, the first phase of 2940 Mu will be completed within this year and open to the public free of charge. The whole park is expected to be completed in three years, becoming the largest forest green space in Zhongguancun area. Unlike previous urban parks, the construction of Zhongguancun Forest Park will focus on creating a "close to nature" environment. "It does not need to be delicate, but it must be natural, so that people can completely relax as soon as they go in. The concept of close to nature in the construction of Zhongguancun Forest Park permeates in all aspects. In the plan, 70% of the area of Zhongguancun Forest Park will be built into woodland, and more than 100 kinds of plants are planned to be planted. In addition to common street trees such as Ginkgo biloba, Pinus tabulaeformis and Populus tomentosa in urban areas, popular greening trees such as locust, Quercus and Vitex will also appear in the park.

Zhongguancun Forest Park is adjacent to the space city and is not far from Zhongguancun Software Park. After the completion of Zhongguancun Forest Park, it will become a back garden jointly owned by thousands of high-tech enterprises and residential quarters around it. Enterprise employees and surrounding residents can enter leisure at any time without spending a cent. Compared with ordinary parks, the leisure facilities in Zhongguancun Forest Park are also unique. During the forest construction of Zhongguancun Forest Park, a 6 km long healthy greenway will be reserved for citizens to walk or ride. It is worth mentioning that although the healthy greenway is constructed artificially, its design concept also reflects "close to nature". Paved on the road is not cement, stone, but a small stone, conducive to rainwater back to the ground. People stepping on it, rustling, do not have a wild mountain.
