Yele Nature Reserve is located in Yele Township in the north of Mianning County, Sichuan Province, bordering on the south of Shimian County, Ya'an City. It is a provincial nature reserve. It is 70 kilometers away from Mianning County.

Regional characteristics

Yele Nature Reserve has a maximum altitude of 5299 meters and a minimum altitude of 2600 meters, with a height difference of 1200-2800 meters. Most of the mountains have a slope of more than 35 degrees. The total area is about 243 square kilometers. The protected objects are rare animals such as giant panda, other plants and natural ecological environment. There are 103 species of wild plants in 56 families and 246 species of wild vertebrates. Among them, there are five species of wild animals under first-class national protection, including giant panda, antelope, clouded leopard and green tailed red pheasant. There are 29 species of wild animals under the second level protection, such as big civet, little civet and red bellied horned pheasant. Liangshan Prefecture, even Sichuan Province, is a rare species resource, rich in gene pool and natural zoo.

Yele Nature Reserve has abundant rainfall, more clouds and less sunshine, and frost free period is only about 180 days.
