Huoqiu martyrs cemetery is a national 3A tourist attraction. Founded in 1965, it was built to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who died in previous revolutionary wars. Marshal Xu Qianqian personally inscribed "Huoqiu County revolutionary martyrs memorial tower".

Martyr tower is located in the eastern suburb of Huoqiu County, east end of Donghu road.

Tourism characteristics

The bottom of the martyr tower is 49 meters long and 21 meters high. On the top of the tower is a red star with five corners. On the front of the tower is engraved with ten characters of "Huoqiu revolutionary martyrs memorial tower" written by Marshal Xu Qianqian. The front of the tower base is engraved with inscriptions of the county Party committee and the county government. Pines and cypresses stand upright around the tower, and it is evergreen all the year round. In 1985, a 50 square meter martyr's story exhibition room was set up in the cemetery to display the ashes and pictures of 19 martyrs from Huoqiu, including Liu Huo and Bai Qunhe, who took part in the defense against Vietnam. In 2000, after the death of Li Xuexian, Huoqiu's old Red Army and former deputy director of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, his tombstone and stone statue were also placed in the cemetery, adding a new scenic spot to the cemetery
