Chengdu food culture museum is located at 459 Hongling Road, Longquanyi District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It has a collection of about 1600 pieces, including pottery, porcelain, literature works and animal and plant specimens. The exhibition is divided into ancient, modern and modern time sequence. The main features of the collection are: tableware of past dynasties, processing equipment of modern catering enterprises, specimens of wild animals and plants, ancient and modern wine and tea cultural products, outdoor life products. It is a non-profit social service organization open to the public and an important base for inheriting and innovating food civilization.
Development history
Chengdu Food Culture Museum, formerly known as the food culture museum of Sichuan Tourism University, was established in 2008. Through the efforts of the University and the support of relevant departments, the "food culture museum" has won the government certification, and has been officially named "Chengdu Food Culture Museum" by Sichuan Province and Chengdu Municipal Bureau of cultural relics.
On July 9, 2013, Chengdu Food Culture Museum officially opened.

Chengdu food culture museum is located on the second and third floors of building a, hotel experimental and practical teaching center building of Sichuan Tourism University. There are seven exhibition halls in the museum after expansion and decoration. On the second floor, there are tea culture and wine culture exhibition halls, crop diseases and insect pests specimens and graduate works exhibition halls. On the third floor, there are food materials specimens, animal specimens, food utensils and ethnic food exhibition halls.
The museum's important collections include bat fossils from the late Cambrian of the Paleozoic about 500 million years ago, plant leaf fossils formed 400 million years ago, and many other paleontological fossils and animal fossils. Among them, the complete dinosaur egg fossils formed 100 million years ago reflect the life of dinosaur era, the most prolific reptile in the Mesozoic era. There are also large animal specimens: male lion and clouded leopard, leopard and so on.
The exhibition hall of food material specimens and animal specimens respectively displays exfoliated and immersed animal posture specimens, anatomical structure specimens, invertebrate specimens, dried box specimens of insects and butterflies, leaf type specimens of plants, legumes, stems and other specimens.
Wine culture exhibition hall has various kinds of Baijiu, wine bottles and ceramic appliances. Catering utensils and Ethnic Catering Exhibition Hall display some drinking utensils, cookware and tableware from ancient times to the present. The exhibits on display may be wonderful or plain, obscure, distant and gloomy, but they are relics that can be touched with ten fingers. They are colorful real history. The cultural information and artistic temperament they reveal can give us a glimpse of the literary style of the times in Chinese history.
