Mingxiang campus of Taiyuan University of Technology

Taiyuan University of technology is one of the earliest three national universities in China, which was founded in 1902 by the national Shanxi University. Shanxi Province is the only one listed in the national "211 Project" key construction of the University, "excellence plan" University. Mingxiang campus is the new campus of Taiyuan University of technology, covering a total area of 2278 mu, undertaking the undergraduate teaching and scientific research tasks of the University.

Mingxiang campus of Taiyuan University of technology is located in the New College District of Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, about 35 km away from Yingxi campus of Yingze West Street in Taiyuan City, and about 8 km away from the downtown area of Jinzhong City. It leads to Taiyuan city and Yuci District of Jinzhong City through a number of bus lines. The campus covers a total area of 2278 mu, with a planned construction area of 820000 square meters. Now 72 units have been put into use, with a construction area of 520000 square meters.

Development history

Taiyuan University of technology is one of the three earliest national universities in China, which was founded in 1902 by the national Shanxi University. After more than a hundred years of inheritance and development, the university has been built into an engineering oriented, science and engineering combined, multi-disciplinary coordinated development of institutions of higher learning, is the national "211 Project" key construction university.

On the morning of September 29, 2014, the full commissioning ceremony of Mingxiang campus of Taiyuan University of technology was held in front of the South Gate (main gate) of Mingxiang campus. Wu Junqing, Secretary of the University Party committee, LV Ming, President, Liu Yuping, deputy secretary of the University Party committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Zhang Huiyuan, deputy secretary of the University Party committee, Guo Mintai, Xu bingshe, Li Jinping, LV Yongkang and Dai Jinming, vice presidents attended the ceremony. Responsible persons of various functional departments, representatives of construction units, teachers and students attended the meeting. Dai Jinming presided over the ceremony. Lu Ming announced that the campus of Taiyuan University of technology will be fully put into use. School leaders jointly unveil the Ming Dynasty campus.

The Mingxiang campus of Taiyuan University of technology is located in the northern new town of Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province. It is about 35 km away from Yingxi campus of Yingze West Street in Taiyuan City, and about 8 km away from the downtown area of Jinzhong City. It leads to Taiyuan and Yuci through a number of bus lines. The campus covers a total area of 2278 mu, with a planned building area of 820000 square meters. Now 72 single buildings have been put into use, with a building area of 520000 square meters, including 5 public teaching buildings, 12 department buildings, 21 student apartments, 1 teacher apartment, 2 comprehensive experimental buildings, 3 student canteens and 2 sports grounds. There are 13 colleges in the campus, including 19473 undergraduates and 1941 postgraduates.
