Historical evolution

The origin of the predecessor

Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School

In March 1927, Mr. Tao Xingzhi founded Xiaozhuang experimental rural normal school.

In August 1928, it was renamed Nanjing Xiaozhuang school.

In April 1930, it was sealed up by the Kuomintang authorities. Later, some students in Nanjing, encouraged by Tao Xingzhi, spontaneously organized "Xiaozhuang children's automatic school".

During the Anti Japanese war from 1937 to 1945, the school was forced to stop.

In January 1951, with the approval of Premier Zhou Enlai, Nanjing Xiaozhuang school was restored at its original site.

In 1952, Nanjing Xiaozhuang school was renamed Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School.

In October 1955, Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School was renamed Jiangsu Xiaozhuang Normal School.

In 1971, Jiangsu Xiaozhuang Normal School was renamed Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School.

 

Nanjing Institute of Education

In October 1952, Nanjing teachers training school was founded.

In August 1953, Nanjing Teachers' training school was renamed Nanjing Teachers' training college.

In April 1956, part of Nanjing Teachers' Training Institute was renamed Jiangsu Teachers' Training Institute, and another Nanjing Teachers' Training Institute was set up in Nanjing.

In 1969, Nanjing Teachers Training College was closed.

In May 1972, Nanjing teachers training school was established again.

In 1975, it was renamed Nanjing Teachers Training Institute.

In 1983, it was renamed Nanjing Institute of education.

 

Nanjing Teachers College

In July 1958, Nanjing Teachers College was founded.

In July 1962, Nanjing Teachers College closed down.

In November 1984, Nanjing Teachers College was established again.

 

Nanjing Preschool Teachers College

In 1979, the kindergarten class of Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School was founded.

In 1981, it was renamed Nanjing preschool normal school.

In 2005, it was renamed Nanjing preschool teachers college.

 

Merger development

On June 1, 1991, with the approval of the State Education Commission, Nanjing Teachers College and Nanjing Institute of education merged.

On March 22, 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Nanjing Normal College, Nanjing Institute of education and Nanjing Xiaozhuang Normal School were merged and upgraded to undergraduate colleges.

On October 15, 2014, Nanjing preschool teachers college was merged into Nanjing Xiaozhuang College.

Department major

Scientific research platform
