In November 2017, Shanlian village was awarded the fifth national civilized village.

Shanlian village is located at the foot of Gushan at the junction of Xishan, Changshu and Jiangyin. The traffic is blocked, so it is known as "Jiming Wensan county". In recent years, under the leadership of Wu Yueping, Secretary of the general Party branch of the village, Shanlian village people living close to the mountains and water closely focus on the overall requirements of building a new socialist countryside, such as "development of production, affluence of life, civilized rural style, clean and tidy village appearance, and democratic management", and earnestly promote the coordinated development of spiritual civilization construction and social undertakings, showing a thriving and gratifying situation.

When you enter Shanlian village, you can see lush Gushan in the north and dense river network in the territory, which is a natural and harmonious ecological scroll. In recent years, Shanlian village has paid special attention to the construction of new countryside with village renovation, river dredging, greening and beautification, and comprehensively promoted the development of social undertakings. Last year, the village poured 32000 square meters of cement roads, river dredging, adding railings, etc., with a total investment of more than 1.7 million yuan; more than 400000 yuan was invested in river dredging; 100000 yuan was invested in beautifying the environment along the new Xisha line, and a professional cleaning team was set up, giving the village a new look.

Last year, Shanlian village always took the development and expansion of village level economy as the top priority, constantly seeking new economic growth points, built 4000 square meters of standard factory throughout the year, and introduced four enterprises. At present, the village still has 2000 square meters of standard factory buildings to be completed, and the construction of 18000 square meters of residential areas with concentrated foreign population is stepping up. It is estimated that after these tasks are successfully put in place, the village level disposable income will reach about 3.5 million yuan this year, which will effectively promote the rapid development of various social undertakings in the village.
