Taotangyu

Taotangyu natural scenic spot is located in the south of Huoshan mountain, 20 kilometers southeast of the urban area, with a tourist area of about 40 square kilometers.

Layout of scenic spots

Taotangyu has both elegant and graceful water towns in the south of the Yangtze River and magnificent mountains in the north. Upstream, there are floating bridge, fairy pool waterfall, fairy pool, Yaowang summer resort, soul building, Shuiliandong, rhinoceros stone, dishuiya waterfall, Wulong pool, dagoucha waterfall, Shimen, Guanfeng gorge, yixiantian, Qingtian yuzhufeng, huaishugou waterfall, jieshuiao waterfall, Yuquan temple, Guishan, Lianhua Mountain, etc. The whole scenic area is composed of three parts: Emperor Yao's palace, five dragon pool and Shimen landscape.

Scenery characteristics

Taotangyu is famous for its unique peaks, beautiful waterfalls, winding paths, beautiful scenery and endless charm. The natural scenery characterized by "strange peaks, beautiful rocks, beautiful water and quiet valley" can be called the four wonders of the scenic spot.

The mountain is 2350 meters above sea level. It is also known as Guishan because of the Millennium stone turtle's position on the top of the mountain. From Guishan mountain to Lianhua Mountain, another famous peak in the southeast of the scenic spot. Further south, the main peak of Huo mountain is opposite Lianhua Mountain across the valley. The water of taotangyu originates from the deep mountains, dense forests and the cliffside of the valley. The landscapes of xiannvchi waterfall, Shuiliandong, wulongchi, dagoucha waterfall and Shimen waterfall are unique in style. Taotangyu's secluded valley is a typical landscape of yixiantian, which is about 200 meters behind the stone gate. The cliffs on both sides of the narrow valley are like knives and axes. It is high and unattainable. The valley becomes a gap, and the sky becomes a line. The cold air in the valley makes people feel secluded and deep. Pottery Tang Lishi can be seen everywhere. About 100 meters into the mouth of the valley, there is a small pool. The stone patterns on the bottom of the pool are beautiful and colorful. On the riverbed stone where the stream flows into the pool, a bird, head south and tail north, is lifelike. There is a stone monkey image in the East. When the water is abundant, it flows in to play, and when the water is thin, it looks on the bank. At the bottom of the East Valley of the Yao palace, there is a big black stone in the stream. On the stone, a white rhinoceros is drinking from the stream. The pattern on the wall of the five dragon pool is gorgeous, and the picture of two dragons playing with pearls in the stone gate pattern is even more impressive. The natural lotus stone and lotus pedestal on the top of Lianhua Mountain are truly amazing.

Cultural value

The existing dongyuexing palace in the scenic spot was rebuilt in the fifth year of Yanyou after the earthquake of Yuan Dynasty. It is five in width and five in depth. It has five steps in width and two eaves on the top of the mountain. Its columns are all stone carvings. It is engraved with five pieces of Mulan Huaci. There are statues of dongyuehuang tiger and waiters in the palace. Finally, below the ground level, there are 15 cave caves with 18 floors of hell. Inside, there are five great emperors, ten halls, Yan Qun, and six judges of Cao. The height of the statues is equal to that of human beings. There are more than 120 bodies, including various ghost officials, Dao mountain, oil pot, grinding, sawing and so on.
