Aspiring Academy

Lizhi Academy was founded in Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty. In the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed the first primary school in Wuzhen. Later, it was restored and listed as the exhibition hall of Mao Dun's achievements. There are more than 150 pictures about Mao Dun's revolutionary activities and his literary road, as well as his works, manuscripts, books, inscriptions and articles he used.

Mao Dun memorial hall is located on the right side of Mao Dun's former residence. Its predecessor was Lizhi academy founded by Yi Shen Yan Chen in the fourth year of Tongzhi. Now it is arranged as a memorial hall. Through words and pictures, we can learn about the glorious life of Mao Dun.

Introduction to scenic spots

Located on the east side of Mao Dun's former residence, Lizhi Academy was first founded in the fourth year of Tongzhi by Yishen Yanchen. Now it is Mao Dun Memorial Hall. Its predecessor is the Fenshui Academy of mingzhenjia lake, which is located in the west of Fenshui pier of Beizha in Wuzhen. From Guanqian Street in front of the college to guanhou street in the back, it goes straight to Wujin. Today's academy has basically maintained the appearance of that time. The lintel of the gate is inlaid with the word "aspire". The couplets on both sides are the annotation of the name of the hospital. The courtyard is the lecture hall, and the plaque of "aspire to succeed" is hung on it. The couplet on both sides is written by Yu Quyuan, a great master of Chinese culture. It says, "I hope you will aspire when you hear the old scale of water; Zhong Xiujie of Mount Jishan will know that you will succeed in the future." Today's Lizhi academy has been set up as a Mao Dun Memorial Hall. Through words and pictures, it introduces us to the glorious life of a generation of literary giants.
