Xishuangbanna Vocational and Technical Institute

Founded in 2001, Xishuangbanna Vocational and technical college is a higher vocational college which is a combination of the former Xishuangbanna Institute of education and other three schools. Covering an area of 200 mu, the college is located in the center of Jinghong, Xishuangbanna, a famous tourist city with beautiful campus environment and distinctive school running characteristics.

At present, the college has 346 in-service staff and 4225 students, 8 teaching departments including language and Literature Department, 29 majors including applied Thai (3 of which are key construction demonstration majors at the provincial level), and many teaching bases such as "training base of tourism major for national talents in short supply" supported by the central finance, forming a complete practice base of "on campus, off campus and transnational" Practice training system. Adhering to the school running orientation of "based on Xishuangbanna, facing Southeast Asia, radiating inside and outside the province", the college actively explores the development law of higher vocational education, and strives to do a good job in vocational education to the satisfaction of the frontier people. It has achieved remarkable results in personnel training and social services, foreign exchange and cooperation in running schools. It has been listed as a pilot University for implementing the "going out" strategy in Yunnan Province and an international talent training center for practical skills It's called "the base for raising livestock". In recent three years, the college has been rated as an advanced and excellent unit in employment of college graduates in Yunnan Province; in 2008, the college was listed as one of the first batch of demonstration construction colleges of Higher Vocational Colleges in Yunnan Province, and Nie Qu, Secretary of the Party committee and President of the College, won the first outstanding president award of Huang Yanpei.
