Nanhexia historic district

Like the previous "Shuangdong" area, nanhexia area is a well-known place in old Yangzhou. There are old streets and ancient alleys such as Huayuan lane, nanhexia and Dingjiawan in the area. Led by He Yuan, salt merchants' houses, guild halls and Yangzhou ancient dwellings gather here. In the alleys and deep houses, the ruins of ancient houses are everywhere, including old wells, brick gatehouses and ancient trees. According to reports, in addition to Heyuan, a famous salt merchant's residence, there are also many well preserved salt merchant's residences and guilds, such as Hunan Guildhall (Diyuan), Pingyuan, xiaopangu, Jia's garden, er Fen Mingyue building, Xu Yunfu's residence (zundetang), Liao keting's former residence, Lingnan Guildhall, and Si'an office. At the same time, the ancient alleys such as nanhexia, Huayuan lane, Dashu lane, Dingjiawan, Wucheng lane, Jushi lane, Yinshi street and Xincang lane are crisscrossed. There are many ancient wells and old houses in the alleys, and most of the sandwich walls and brick gate buildings follow the prototype. The style of the block is very complete. There are 16 ancient trees more than 100 years old in the area.

Nanhexia historic district

Nanhexia historic district is located in Yangzhou, with a total land area of 42.03 hectares. In addition to Heyuan, the first garden in the late Qing Dynasty, there are many well preserved salt merchants' houses, guilds and private gardens, such as Hunan Guildhall, xiaopangu, Jia's garden, erfenmingyuelou, Lingnan Guildhall, etc.

There are many ancient wells, old houses and ancient trees in nanhexia historical district. The structure of streets and alleys is basically the same as that of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The overall style is very complete, which is extremely rare in the existing ancient cities in China.
