Qizhou city site

Qizhoucheng site is located in the east of Xiaotazi village, haoguantun Township, Kangping County, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Built in the period of emperor Taizu of Liao Dynasty (921-926 AD), it was destroyed in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. Some of the remains of the city site, such as blue and gray groove brick, cloth tile, gray pottery pot fragments, all have the characteristics of Liao Dynasty.

Therefore, Qizhou in Liao Dynasty is the ruins of Xiaotazi ancient city in Kangping County. Judging from the remains of the city site, it is an earthen square city with a north-south direction and a slightly square shape. The perimeter of the city wall is about 4 Li, and the west side is about 400 meters long. The remnant height of the city wall is 5-6 meters, and the bottom is 10 meters wide. There are three east-west and South gates. At present, the site of the east wall urn gate is still clear, the South Gate gap is visible, and the moat is dimly recognizable. There was a road between the east gate and the west gate. It was built when the Northeast was occupied and destroyed the west gate. In the city, the land is cultivated.

In October 1980, the county government announced it as a key cultural relics protection unit. In October 1981, Tieling district administrative office announced it as a key protection unit. In December 1988, it was upgraded to a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.
