Sichuan Agricultural University (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Agricultural University") is a national "double first-class" world-class discipline construction university and a key construction University of "211 Project", which is jointly constructed by the province and ministry. The school originated from Sichuan Tongsheng agricultural school founded in Chengdu in 1906, formerly known as the Agricultural College of national Sichuan University. In 1956, the Agricultural College of Sichuan University moved to Ya'an to run an independent school, named Sichuan Agricultural College; in 1985, the school changed its name to Sichuan Agricultural University. In March 2018, the school has three campuses, Ya'an, Chengdu and Dujiangyan, covering a total area of 4500 mu, with a collection of 11.6589 million books (pieces). There are more than 3700 faculty members, including 326 professors and 578 associate professors, 26 colleges and 15 research institutes (centers). There are 7 mobile stations for postdoctoral research, 10 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, 17 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 91 undergraduate majors; there are more than 44000 full-time students, including more than 38000 undergraduates and nearly 6000 postgraduates. Agricultural science, botany and zoology of the university entered the top 1% of ESI International disciplines. In 2013, the total number of national science and technology awards of the University was 13, and the number of scientific research institutions was 14.
