Shimen Bridge on Jialing River

Chongqing Jialing River Shimen Bridge is located between zhongdukou in Shapingba District and dashiba in Jiangbei District. Bridge location

Shimen Bridge of Jialing River is located in Chongqing, China, connecting Jiangbei District and Shapingba District. The bridge is about 2.8km away from gaojiahuayuan bridge in the northwest and 4.8km away from Jiahua bridge in the southeast. The line starts from dashiba overpass in the north, crosses Jialing River Waterway in the north, and ends at Hanyu Road intersection in the south. The route of the bridge is Hongshi road and Hanyu road

Design features

Shimen Bridge on Jialing River is a single tower cable-stayed bridge. The main girder is consolidated with the tower and pier; the cross section is a three chamber trapezoidal box girder with inclined outer web, each pair of stay cables are anchored on two middle web plates, the force transmission of side box is in the form of tie rods, and the prestressed concrete stay rods are set every certain distance, and the prestressed steel tendons in the tie rods are anchored on the top steel beam of bridge deck. The bridge deck is made into broken line shape according to the drainage cross slope. Two beams are set at the consolidation of beam, tower and pier. The box girder adopts trapezoidal section under the tower column and connects with the strength section of pier top. The box girder and tower column are made of 400 concrete. The tower column is set on the central divider of the bridge deck, which is a single column hollow structure with equal cross-section. The cable pipes staggered in front and back are reserved on the tower column for the cable to pass through the anchorage. The anchorage end is set with serrated tensioning groove, and the detection platform is set on both sides. The cables are arranged with a symmetrical harp, and the two cable planes are arranged on the central divider. Each inner and outer cable is composed of a plurality of high-strength galvanized steel wires, and the parallel steel wires are arranged in an unequal octagonal shape. The main pier is of reinforced concrete structure; the bearing platform is of 250 concrete; the abutment supporting the box girder is of excavated pile foundation, the pile top is poured with reinforced concrete bent cap, the two sides and the front of the abutment are provided with decorative walls, and the central divider behind the abutment is provided with an access shaft

Design parameters

The line of Shimen Bridge on Jialing River is 1096.5 meters long, the main bridge is 806 meters long, the full width of the bridge deck is 25.5 meters, and the main span is (230 + 200) meters long. The girder is 4 meters high, the top of the box girder is 24.5 meters wide, the overhanging on both sides is 4.25 meters, and the bottom slab is 13 meters wide; the thickness of the bridge deck is 30 cm, the bottom slab is 35 cm, and the thickness of the inner and outer webs are 60 cm and 30 cm respectively. The pylon is 113 meters high from the bridge deck, 9.5 meters wide along the bridge, 4.0 meters wide across the bridge, and 4.5 meters wide above the bridge deck clearance. The South span spacing of cables is 216 cm, the North span spacing is 300 cm, 25 pairs of cables are set before and after the tower column, the horizontal spacing on the beam is 7.5 m, the vertical distance on the tower is 3.75 m, and the diameter of the inner steel bundle is 5 mm, a total of 302 cables, and the design tension is 380 tons
