Sanzhao cave

Sanzhao cave, also known as Jiaogong cave, is located on the side of the road leading people to the top of the mountain at the West foot of Jiaoshan mountain. Jiao Guang's statue in the cave was molded in August 1979. He is dressed in hermit clothes, straw sandals and a book in his right hand. He is graceful and vivid.

Jiaogong temple was originally built in Jiaoshan, with a statue of Jiaogong inside. In the 10th year of Shunzhi (1653), monk Xing moved the statue of Jiao Gong into Sanzhao cave, and the temple of Jiao Gong was changed into Jialan hall. After the collapse was not repaired. Sanzhao cave was renovated by Jiao erchang, the descendant of Jiao Guang, in the Mid Autumn Festival of 1898. There is a stone statue in the cave, which is in the style of deep clothes with two children standing on both sides.

It is said that in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Jiao Guang, a bachelor, did not want to be an official. He lived in Zhenjiang and lived in seclusion. He was highly educated and proficient in medicine. He often collected medicine in the mountains to cure the fishermen around him. Every day I cut firewood in the mountains and lived by selling firewood. I was very poor. Liu Xie, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, heard of his high reputation. He issued three imperial edicts to invite Jiao Guang to be an official in the mountain. He refused to answer the imperial edict. He was known as "three imperial edicts can't afford it", so it was named Sanzhao cave. It is said that when the emperor came to the imperial edict for the first time, Jiao Guang fried soup and cooked medicine, and shirked the responsibility on the grounds of his wife's illness; the second time, he avoided inviting friends to travel far away; the third time, Jiao Guang lay in bed and refused the Imperial edict because he was old and ill. Later generations changed the name of the mountain to Jiaoshan in memory of him.
