Niutoushan

Niutoushan is located in the northeast corner of the green island. Niutoushan is formed by the erosion of volcanic rocks by sea water. Forest resources

Located in the southwest of Wuyi, Niutou mountain is the highest peak in central Zhejiang Province, named National Forest Park by the State Forestry Administration. Niutoushan Forest Park is the source of Xuanping River, the main tributary of Oujiang River, with a total area of 1292.52 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 99%. There are 1530 species of plants and 265 species of wild animals in the park, including 8 species of first and second class protected plants and 36 species of animals. It is an important biological gene pool in East China. The main peak of Niutou mountain is 1560 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by peaks such as gu'ao mountain, tiancang mountain and Baima Mountain. It has continuous ups and downs, dense forests, intricate mountain roads, waterfalls, deep pools, canyon cliffs and ancient trees.

Ancient village and historic site

At the foot of Niutou mountain are Xiatian, Shangtian, sanshenkeng, dakengxia and other natural villages. Due to inconvenient transportation and other reasons, they have been moved down the mountain. Shangtian village has been developed as a tourism catering service area. These villages are built close to the mountains, and the old houses with civil structures are hidden among the ancient bamboo trees. Most of the houses are in a row of three rooms. Entering the main door, they are the patio and hall. There are two main rooms beside the hall and two wing rooms on both sides of the patio. The wing room is bright and the main room is spacious. Behind the hall is the staircase. Chinese fir columns and 24 inch wide soil gravel concrete wall are used as building materials, especially the thick wall, which can really keep cool in summer and warm in winter. Summer into the house, Tang wind, from head to foot every pore feel comfortable and cool incomparable. The floor of the house is paved with green bricks fired by earthen kilns, thick and simple. Inside the room and floor, are made of fir wood, painted with green paint, fine texture of fir, clearly visible. After repair, some of the houses have been used as accommodation and restaurants for tourists. What's most interesting is that the slogans written during the cultural revolution are still visible on the walls of those houses. For example, "listen to Chairman Mao, read Chairman Mao's quotations, and act according to Chairman Mao's instructions." The profound influence of the Cultural Revolution on our society can be seen.

Scenic spots

The reflection of the green mountains, the bottom of the white stone, and the fish swimming in the shallow water are reminiscent of Liu Zongyuan's description in the story of xiaoshitan: "the fish in the pool can have hundreds of heads, all of which are like empty swimming without a place to depend." "Fleeting and far away, back and forth Xi suddenly, seems to be happy with the tourists." The fish is green and white stripes, so it is named. This fish only grows in the clear mountain stream. Its meat is pure and delicious, but its viscera and eggs are highly toxic. Generally, mountain people do not prey on it. Up the mountain stream, the water is still clear. There is no reservoir above the heavy mountain, and the water in the stream is gathered from the trickling mountain spring in the jungle. The rocks in the stream, big or small, green or white, are smooth and round. Water or in boulders in the rapids and down, stormy waves, blunt spin boiling white, and then in a small pool leisurely whirl, calm, beautiful water. On both sides of the Strait, there are tall shrubs, thick shade to block out the sun, or suddenly bright and green grass. Suddenly thought of "green riverside grass, stretching to the Cape." "The spring is clear in the deep mountains, and turbid when it comes out of the deep mountains.". People are like springs, springs are like people. People can be quiet when they are in the deep mountains, but they are impatient when they are out of the deep mountains. When you come to a section of stream, there are many black butterflies on both sides of the stream. At one time, all the butterflies dance together, like ten thousand horses galloping. At another time, they all rest in the rocks, black and quiet. One butterfly dances alone, then two or three, and all the butterflies dance together. Such a large number of "black beauties" are also a rare and spectacular sight. This butterfly belongs to Lepidoptera Papilionidae. It is a large butterfly with bright colors. It has a tail belt on its hind wing and is more graceful. It grows in tropical and subtropical regions and feeds on Rutaceae and Umbelliferae.

Niutoushan ecological park, Zhongshan, Guangdong
