Located in Shengtang Town, Enping City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, Xiema Juren village is close to the Bank of Jinjiang River, with 215 households and 655 people. It is a "folk village of Chinese history and culture", "national civilized village", "national famous landscape tourism village", "national green well-off village", "ecological demonstration village of Guangdong Province" and "the most beautiful rural demonstration area of Guangdong Province".

On December 31, 2019, it will be included in the second batch of National Forest Village list.

Industry introduction

There is no industry in Xiema village, the economy is mainly agriculture, and the development of collective economy is slow. In recent years, through the development of asparagus base, banana base, planting sugarcane, Huaishan, corn and fruit, fish pond breeding and other ways to promote the local economic development. In 2005, Xiema developed tourism area, tourism income became a new economic growth point, and in 2008, it was named "Chinese historical and Cultural Village".

Historical development

It is reported that the scenic spot of Juren village in Xiema was invested by Hong Kong businessman Feng Yongwei and developed, constructed and operated by Mr. Feng in the form of leasing for 50 years. According to research, in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were more than 670 students in Xiema village, Shengtang Town, Enping City, who had obtained official titles or official positions. There were more than 430 officials from Jiupin to zhengerpin, of which 285 were above the rank of Juren, and 5 were above the rank of second grade officials. Therefore, the village has been honored as "Juren village". In modern times, there are many famous people in this village. In Juren village in Xiema, there are still seven ancestral halls, more than 200 stone tablets, imperial edict stone tablets of the Qing Dynasty, eight flagpole clips and unique "women's Lane" and other cultural relics and historic sites, which record the glory of Juren village.

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Liang Yuangui was the most prominent official in Xiema village. Liang Yuangui was elected in the 26th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1846 A.D.) and Enke Jinshi in the second year of Xianfeng reign (1852 A.D.). He appointed the head of the household department immediately. He served successively as the prefects of Yanping, Funing, Shaowu, etc. in Fujian Province. He also served as the commander of taishu's army, as well as the governor and governor. Of the 107 men from the four generations under liang junzhang, the Liang Yuangui family, 81 of whom were awarded official titles. Among them, 51 served in the imperial court, and 4 of them were second class officials.

In modern history, the outstanding representative of Shema village is Brigadier General Liang Hanyi of the US air force. During the Anti Japanese War, he was a member of the US "Flying Tigers" to aid China. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he was the captain and pilot of the "Air Force No.1" that former US President Nixon visited China for the first time. He was received by Chairman Mao Zedong twice before and after liberation. The village's modern and contemporary celebrities include Fang Yanfen, a famous Cantonese Opera actress, Liang dingguang, a contemporary calligrapher, and Liang Yuliao, a Hong Kong business celebrity.

The most amazing thing is that the descendants of Xiema village built the whole village into a horse shape with "horse head", "horse waist" and "horse tail" intentionally or unintentionally in the process of development. The roadway drainage channels of "Matou" are all open channels, which are called "horse bone"; the "Mawei" are all closed channels, which are called "horse belly membrane bone". The sewer well covers of the closed channels are all cast into the shape of money, and the pond in front of the village is called "horse belly". It is said that the "horse" of the horse is the male horse, so there are two big stones at the "horsetail" to symbolize the genitalia of the horse.

Architecture

In Xiema village, the reporter found that the ancient houses were very well built. Most of the walls were made of marble with a height of two meters. The walls were built with blue bricks, and the eaves and ridges were decorated with gray sculptures depicting dragons and phoenixes. It is exquisite and beautiful. We can see the wealth of Xiema village in history. The most unique feature of Xiema is its laneway, which can be divided into big and small laneways. The 13 main laneways are for men to go in and out, which are called "men's laneway", while the 14 small laneways are places for women to cool down and chat. Men are not allowed to enter, which is called "women's laneway", which is the specific interpretation of "men and women give and receive each other".
