It is located on the west side of the hall, more than 1300 years ago. There is also an interesting legend about this ancient mulberry: the predecessor of Kaiyuan Temple, which was once a big mulberry garden of Huang Shougong. It is said that one day, the rich man dreamt that a monk wanted to build a Buddhist temple in this mulberry field. He was inconvenient to refuse. He deliberately made a difficult problem: he would give alms only after the mulberry tree had opened a white lotus within three days. After three days, the mulberry trees in the garden turned into white lotus. The rich man had no choice but to offer land to build the temple. This is today's Kaiyuan Temple, formerly known as "Lotus Temple". It can be seen that the old mulberry tree in the temple has a long history. Later, in a lightning strike, the ancient mulberry was split into three. However, the ancient mulberry was not only immortal, but the three ancient mulberry with the same root were still covered with green leaves and growing vigorously.
