Xiangtan Heping park generally refers to Heping Park (Heping Park, Yuhu District, Xiangtan City)

Yuhu peace park was built by Xiangtan Municipal People's government to develop urban public utilities at the beginning of the founding of new China. It is located in the north of the urban area and west of Hunan Guizhou railway. It covers an area of 36 hectares, including 23 hectares of water and 13 hectares of land.

Heping park is mainly a public open space with unique forest climate and elegant natural environment. There are more than 100 kinds of arbors such as catalpa, camphor, Phoebe, Magnolia and gingko planted in the park. There are more than 600 kinds of bonsai, flowers and bamboos, and more than 40000 plants. The land coverage rate has reached more than 80%, and more than 70% of the total area is woodland, which highlights the "green" characteristics and functions of the park.

The main scenic spots in the park are: bonsai garden, zoo, roller skating rink, baihuatai, children's amusement park. Children's amusement park has its own characteristics. Large electric planes, swings, rings, bars, skateboards, bumper cars and other facilities are in the green trees. The environment is elegant and the air is fresh.

Get honor

The flowers and bonsai cultivated and made in Heping park have made their debut in China. The first Chrysanthemum Exhibition was held in Shanghai by the national flower and Chinese Bonsai Association in 1982. Zhaju "Erlong Xizhu" presented by Heping Park won the first prize. In 1985 and 1986, most of the bonsai exhibited in Heping Park won prizes.

In April 1986, Wang Shoudao, member of the CPC Central Committee, inspected Heping Park, praised its bonsai for its strong Jiangnan flavor, and wrote a plaque of "Xiangtan bonsai" for it.
