Siyuan Valley

Siyuan Valley is a reservoir of Xiamen University. Its original name was "lover's Valley".

In 2011, 31 students of grade 79 from the Department of foreign trade of Xiamen University donated 10 million yuan to renovate the reservoir and held the completion ceremony. In order to show the good deeds of the alumni, Xiamen University named the reservoir "Siyuan Valley". "Siyuan Valley" also has a more familiar name for Xiamen adults - "lover Valley". If the former lover's Valley is winding, like a jasper in the boudoir waiting for words, it has a kind of hazy beauty; now Siyuan's Valley has become more and more elegant and tasteful after being renovated. A new wooden plank road and stone steps are built to walk leisurely along the forest path; a nursery is set up on the hillside, with seats on the roadside, and pavilions, tables and chairs for reading; and the nearby golf course is for physical fitness. With these new changes, the lake is still the same, and the mountain is still the same. The completion of Siyuan Valley provides a better place for teachers and students to relax and study. Many Xiamen adults have special feelings for "lover's Valley". Representatives of students from the Department of foreign trade of grade 79 said that Xiamen University reservoir has left them a lot of good memories. In those days, although the Xiada reservoir was overgrown with weeds, students often had a picnic there.
