Zhennanguan uprising site

Zhennanguan uprising site, also known as youfushan Er Paotai, is on youfushan on the right side of Youyi pass. The fort was built by Su Yuanchun in 1887-1892. It is divided into Zhennan, Zhenzhong and Zhenbei, which are built with brick and stone. The inner part is the vault cavity, which is divided into upper, middle and lower floors, front and rear hall, storeroom and passageway. The fort is equipped with 7 German buruk cannons, and the two cannons are horns of each other. The altitude is 590 meters, surrounded by steep walls, and the situation is magnificent. In the middle of the town, there is an inscription on the platform. In December 1907, Sun Yat Sen sent Huang Mingtang and Guan Renfu to zhennanguan to plan an uprising, contacted the Qing army as an agent, and occupied the Second Artillery station of youfushan. Sun Yat Sen and Huang Xing came to command the fort from Hanoi, Vietnam. Lu Rongting of the Qing army led more than 4000 people to fight back to the right Fushan. The rebel army held the fort for seven days and nights, killing and injuring more than 200 Qing soldiers. Finally, because of the great disparity between the rich and the poor, they ran out of ammunition and food and were forced to retreat.
