Jade Emperor Hall
Dadaoguan, located in Dingzhou City, Hebei Province, was built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. It was originally a central axis group building, but now it only has the Yuhuang hall.
In 2006, the Jade Emperor Hall of dadaoguan was listed as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
The hall is quite typical of the Yuan Dynasty. It is seven rooms long from east to west and four rooms wide from south to north. The glazed tiles on the top of the hall are cut and three single cocked arches are set. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1662-1722), there was a pond in the east of Daoguan, where fish were raised and lotus were planted. Every Mid Autumn Festival, people in Dingzhou go to enjoy the moon with wine. Because of the scenery, it is named "Xixi playing in the moon", which is listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Dingzhou. On the four walls of the hall, there is a picture of the emperor's tour in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620). The figures in the painting are lifelike, and the painters are comparable with the murals of Beiyue temple, one of the five mountains. National key cultural relics protection units
