Octagonal platform was built in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. On the top of the mountain, a man named Jia Gaoshan, who was worshipped by the "great general of Zhenxi" at that time, built the starting platform. He was a native of our country and lived in gaojiatun. This talented general, who was well versed in military strategy, made many contributions to the Ming Dynasty. On one day's tour, we can see that the mountain has long roads, deep gullies and abrupt peaks. It's a good place to March troops. Therefore, we have to raise food and build plank roads. In the middle of the project, a villain falsely accused him of building a platform to revolt. In a hurry, he changed the building into a temple, only to get away with it. Since then, people from eight neighboring townships have often come to visit incense and worship Buddha. Because he once sent eight families to live here to guard the temple, it is called "bajiatai". After a long time, "octagonal terrace" has become more convenient. Now many people in the city call it "sifangtaizigou".

After the July 7th incident, the headquarters of the 29th army of the Kuomintang had a very tragic encounter with the "Tanigaki division" of the Japanese invaders. From the end of August to the middle of September in 1937, during the 20 day battle, 29 officers and soldiers beat back the Japanese army's repeated attacks and killed the Japanese commander, bendoqiu, and won the battle. In the battle, the citizens of the city sent water and cakes to the front in the smoke of gunfire, and made contributions to the victory of the battle. Many citizens gave their lives.
