ZHENFENG pagoda

It was built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt during the reign of emperor Tianxi of the Northern Song Dynasty. It experienced the prosperous period of Buddhism in the Tang and Song Dynasties and the decline period of the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was destroyed in the Huazhou earthquake in 1556 A.D., and rebuilt according to the original specifications in the 37th year of Jiajing. Qing'an temple is one of the most influential Buddhist temples in Eastern Qin Dynasty. It is also a historical witness of the decline of Buddhism.

ZHENFENG pagoda, also known as Laihua pagoda and Qing'an Temple Pagoda, is a provincial key cultural relic protection unit. It is located in the east of Laihua Town, Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, and south of Weinan Dali highway,

The brick gate on the south side of the bottom of the pagoda is inscribed with four characters "Zhenfeng pagoda". There are two lines of small characters on both sides of the big character. On the east side is "a pagoda of relic which was shaken down by a sudden earthquake on the night of December 12, the 34th year of Jiajing in the state of Wei Da Ming". In the west, it was rebuilt on the 27th of the first month of the 37th year of Jiajing. There is a stone tablet on the second floor of the tower. The title is "a record of the rebuilding of the house tower in Qing'an temple, Laihua Town, Weinan County, Xi'an Prefecture, Shaanxi Province of the Ming Dynasty", and the signature is "Jidan, the 27th day of the first month of the 37th year of Jiajing". It said: "on December 12, Jiajing 34, at three o'clock on the night of three o'clock in the morning.". Another record: "when I set up a pagoda in ancient times, there was Luoshui on the left and willow forest on the right, so I looked at the landscape, and erected the pagoda here, waiting for the strong scenery and beautiful view, and the town was everywhere."

There are many beautiful and magical legends about the pagoda, such as "the God of heaven moved the pagoda by cattle".

The tower in the temple is 9 stories and more than 30 meters high, with a square base and a slightly slanting direction. Among them, the historical facts recorded on the tower are rare material materials for the study of history, politics and economy at that time. In 1972 and 1979, Weinan County People's government strengthened the tower foundation. In 2004, the local relevant departments won the special maintenance fund of 500000 yuan allocated by the State Council to repair the tower again.
