brief introduction

At that time, there were only a few thousand books in the library. With the care and help of the party and the government, the library has made great progress in all aspects over the years. Now it has a collection of more than 220000 books, 29 staff (including 14 with intermediate title or above). The new library covers an area of more than 6100 square meters and is located in the prosperous area of the east section of Huidong road in Huidong development zone. Since its opening in September 1996, the library has received more than 600000 readers.

There are: Acquisition Department, multimedia electronic information center, book reference circulation department, Periodical Department, children's work department and office.

The library's books are mainly social science books, comprehensive books and popular books. The focus is on the local literature of Zigong. Among the more than 30000 thread bound books of ancient books, 1244 are national rare books, and the copy materials of newspapers and periodicals of Renmin University of China, which has been continuously collected for more than 20 years, has formed the characteristics of the museum's collection of large-scale social science secondary documents. In terms of document types, the collection of electronic documents is increasing on the basis of traditional paper documents.

The library mainly carries out the services of books and materials lending, reading, consulting and the provision of digital information and digital literature based on the Internet. There are 8 in library service windows and more than 10 out of library service windows.
