Shandong Jining iron tower, also known as chongjuesi iron tower. Located in chongjue temple, Jining City, Shandong Province. The tower was built in the fourth year of Chongning in the Northern Song Dynasty (1105 AD), with seven floors.
Reconstruction of the past dynasties
In the ninth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1581), the tower was rebuilt and added two floors. The lower part of the tower is a brick octagonal base, with a height of 23.8 meters. The height of the tower itself is only more than 10 meters. The tower is the highest existing tower in Song Dynasty in China. The base opens to the south, and the interior is built with an octagonal caisson top. There are stone statues of the thousand handed Buddha of the Song Dynasty and the inscriptions on the pagoda in the seventh year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1881 AD).
Jining iron tower in Shandong Province is octagonal in shape with iron shell and brick core. Each floor is equipped with eaves, flat seats and balustrades. The flat seat and the eaves of the pagoda are supported by Dougong, and each floor is surrounded by rectangular doors, with 36 doors in total; the other four sides are set with niches, with 56 statues of Buddha sitting on their knees, vivid and vivid.

Cultural relics protection
When it was repaired in 1973, a stone coffin, a wooden box and a silver coffin were found under the tower on the first floor of the tower base, with a built-in body bone relic. This tower is a relic tower. The tower, together with the Yuquan temple tower in Dangyang, Hubei Province and the Liaocheng tower in Shandong Province, is known as the three major towers in China.
