Chengdu University of information technology Technology, referred to as "chengxinda", is jointly built by China Meteorological Administration and Sichuan Provincial People's government. It has been selected as one of the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan", "2011 plan", "basic capacity construction project of universities in central and Western China" and "double first class" construction plan of Sichuan Province. It is a full member of international CDIO organization, deputy leader unit of China CDIO Engineering Education Alliance and China Meteorological University As a member of the talent training alliance, it is a key university of Sichuan Province, which focuses on Information Science and atmospheric science, with interdisciplinary characteristics and engineering, science and management as the main disciplines. It is known as the "cradle of meteorological engineering talents" and "cradle of statisticians". Chengdu University of information engineering, formerly known as Chengdu Institute of meteorology, was founded in 1951. In September 1980, it became one of the first batch of institutions of higher learning with the right to confer bachelor's degree. In 2000, it was renamed Chengdu Institute of information engineering. In 2003, it was granted the right to confer master's degree. In 2007, it was awarded "excellent" in the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level by the Ministry of education. In 2010, it became the first university of Sichuan Provincial People's government and China University In April 2015, with the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, it was renamed Chengdu University of information engineering; in 2016, it was listed as the new construction unit of doctor's degree granting right by Sichuan Provincial Academic Degree Committee and Department of education. According to the information on the official website of Chengxin in August 2018, Chengxin has two campuses, namely airport and Longquan, covering an area of more than 2000 mu, with more than 1.78 million volumes of paper literature; it has 17 secondary colleges and 55 undergraduate majors; 11 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, and 6 categories authorized by master's degree; it has more than 20000 full-time undergraduates and more than 2000 graduate students; and 120 full-time teachers Among them, there are more than 420 doctors and 550 senior professional titles.
