Zhaozhanggong site, located 50 meters southwest of zhaozhanggong village, Daiwang Township, Jiaozuo City, belongs to the Longshan cultural period site and a cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province.

Zhaozhanggong site is located 50 meters southwest of zhaozhanggong village, Daiwang Township, Jiaozuo City. The site is rectangular, 500 meters long from north to South and 300 meters wide from east to west, with a total area of about 150000 square meters.

Historical records

It was discovered during the general survey of cultural relics in 1976. In the winter of 1983, a trial excavation was carried out, and two 10 × 2m exploration ditches were opened. The unearthed and collected specimens include pottery, bone ware and mussel ware. There are many kinds of pottery, such as bowl, jar, urn, tripod, bowl, bean bowl, basin, cup, filter, etc. among them, gray pottery accounts for the majority, sand mixed pottery takes the second place, and red pottery is the least. The decorative patterns on the surface of pottery include rope pattern, checkerboard pattern, additional pile longitude and latitude, etc. the manufacturing methods are mainly hand-made and wheel made. Pottery tools include shovels, axes, chisels, pestles, stone arrowheads, and net pendants. They are exquisitely ground, hard and sharp. There are needles, cones, arrowheads and scrapers. There are clam knives, clam sickles and so on. On the section of exposed ash pit, there are many smashed animal bones and artificially broken spiral shells. According to the analysis of the ash debris in the cultural layer of the site, it seems that there is a house foundation ground. From the perspective of relics, it belongs to the Longshan culture period. In November 1982, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Jiaozuo City. In November 1986, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province.
