Yangzhou revolutionary martyrs cemetery

Yangzhou revolutionary martyrs cemetery is located in wansongling, Slender West Lake. It was built in 1954 and is a national key martyrs memorial building protection unit. Yangzhou revolutionary martyrs cemetery is located in wansongling of Shugang Slender West Lake, a national scenic spot in the north of Yangzhou City, covering an area of 80 mu. It was expanded in 1997 and rebuilt in 2005.

Cemetery layout

There are memorial buildings in the cemetery, such as entrance archway, hanging square, martyr's poem tablet, martyr's monument, martyr's tomb area, martyr's deeds exhibition hall, etc. The archway at the entrance of the martyrs' cemetery is simple and elegant, and on it is engraved with eight golden characters of "Yangzhou revolutionary martyrs' cemetery" inscribed by Comrade Jiang Zemin. There are six stele walls on both sides of the gathering and distributing square, on which the poems of the famous martyrs in China are engraved. Pingdiao square covers an area of 5000 square meters, which can accommodate 5000 people at a time. On both sides of the square lie eight stone wreaths with a diameter of 4.5 meters. The monument to the martyrs presents a grand and solemn style. On the surface of the monument is engraved Comrade Mao Zedong's powerful handwriting of "sacrifice for the country and live forever". Inscriptions written in the name of Yangzhou municipal Party committee and people's government are engraved on the shady side.

Martyr's tomb area

The tomb area is located in the north of the monument. The bright red granite tombstone is placed along the slope, lying in the rich grass, expressing the artistic conception of the martyr's life and coexistence with the earth. The exhibition hall covers an area of 2500 square meters. It displays Xiong Chengji, the pioneer of the 1911 Revolution, Zeng Yuliang, one of the leaders of the February 7th strike, Cao Qifen, the first Secretary of the CPC Yangzhou County Committee, Jiang Shangqing, the founder of the Northeast Anhui Anti Japanese base area, Wei Yiping, the Secretary of the first and third CPC Central Committee, and Xu Xiaoxuan, the prototype of Xu Yunfeng in red rock The life stories and struggle historical materials of well-known martyrs and more than 200 martyrs in various revolutionary periods in Yangzhou.

Get honor

In 2008, it was approved by Jiangsu Provincial People's government as the key martyr memorial building protection unit in Jiangsu Province. In March 2009, it was approved by the State Council of the people's Republic of China as a national key martyr memorial building protection unit.
