Citian Palace

The second floor of the temple is also built to honor the Guanyin Bodhisattva and the eighteen Arhats. The master of temple building also shows his strong personal style of design here. The eighteen Arhats are divided on both sides, and the arhat cave is built for worship. It is a rare design in Hualien County, which is full of clever ideas of landscape layout. Citian temple is the oldest Mazu temple in Hualien City. Later, many new Mazu temples were dedicated to this temple. Different from the new temple, the local people called it "laomazu Temple", showing their special feelings with the residents.

Citian Palace

Citian palace was founded in 1835. The main god of worship in the palace was Guanyin Bodhisattva. It is said that Jiang xiuluan, a pioneer of Beipu rural reclamation, welcomed the temple from the mainland. In 1874, Jiang ronghua, a descendant of the Jiang family, built an additional front hall and two corridors.

Citian Palace

Located in the old street of Beipu Township, the CI Tian palace is built on the mountain. It is quite integrated into the life of local residents and is also the local belief center. Although there is no magnificent exterior architecture, it is closely related to the development and culture of Beipu township. It has a very high cultural preservation value and is a third-class historic site in Taiwan and Fujian.

Traffic information

Driving: from Zhudong or Emei, enter Beipu along provincial road 3 and turn to Zhongzheng road at the foot of xiuluan mountain at Beipu Station. Hitchhike: take Hsinchu bus from Zhudong to Beipu or Shanzhu lake, and get off at Beipu Station.

Traffic information: driving: go from Hualien No.10 station to the urban area, turn right at Zhongzheng intersection along Zhongshan Road, then go straight through Zhonghua Road intersection and turn left at Zhongxiao street.

Pick up: take the Hualian bus at the railway station, get off at Zhongzheng station and turn left into Zhongxiao street.
