Tourism characteristics

Liwu river left, Yanzikou to Cimu bridge, that is the famous cone foot cliff. The highest part of the cliff is 1666 meters, and it is inserted into the valley at a nearly vertical angle. On the smooth cliff, there is a path for people to pass, which is the cone foot section of the ancient road of Hehuan mountain crossing, commonly known as the cone foot ancient road.

The length of the ancient road is about 16 km. Its two ends are near badagang and hemukou (Cimu bridge). When climbing, it cuts down from the vicinity of Jinheng bridge to the bottom of the valley, crosses Liwu River and reaches the entrance of badagang. Overlooking the deep gorge from a height of nearly 800 meters, Zhongheng highway, which is as small as a thin line, is intermittently tied between Liwu Valley, bringing great visual shock. Because the marble is not easy to be weathered, the ancient road is well maintained on the cliff. However, due to the serious collapse at the entrance and the different paths, it is very difficult for ordinary tourists to arrive. They can only look up at the ancient road from Jinheng bridge to Liufang bridge, and experience the awe inspiring momentum of "hukou line".

Starting from Liufang bridge and looking forward, you can see the continuous connection of tunnels, the tortuous road surface, the road embedded in the rock cliffs, and the sound of waves at the bottom of the valley. General Huang Jie once wrote a poem here: "it's like the return of the intestines, it's like the melody of the river, man will conquer the heaven, and it's a wonderful game!" The character is a large diameter ruler, carved on the stone wall. A new double track tunnel has been opened on one side of the original road. The old road is set up as a landscape road, with guide boards, parking lots and other facilities, so that tourists can enjoy the magnificent Marble Canyon landscape.

1. From Hualian railway station, take Hualian and Fengyuan passenger trains to Tianxiang, luoshao and Taichung, get off at Jiuqu cave, and get off at Jinheng bridge at dengjiaolu ancient road.

2. Take Fengyuan and Hualien passenger trains from Taichung railway station to Hualien and get off at Jiuqu cave and Jin Heng bridge respectively.

The ancient road at the foot of the cone is listed as the historical site preservation area of the park, and it is not allowed to enter without permission.
