English Teaching Department of Anhui University

Anhui University is one of the first batch of "211 Project" key universities in China. It is a key comprehensive university in Anhui Province. The Ministry of education and Anhui Provincial People's Government jointly build universities. Located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province, it is a national Chinese education base and a national training base for "outstanding legal talents". It has four campuses and a university science and Technology Industrial Park, covering an area of more than 3200 mu. It has become an important base for Anhui Province and regional innovation and high-level talent training.

The College English teaching department was established in 1992, formerly known as the Department of foreign languages. It is mainly responsible for the foreign language teaching of non English Major Postgraduates and junior college students.

brief introduction

At present, among them, and a group of vibrant young teaching assistants. Our department has 3 training objects for young and middle-aged backbone teachers in our province and 2 young and middle-aged backbone teachers in our school.

In 1988, the Ministry of Great Britain organized students to take part in the national CET-4 and CET-6 for the first time, and their scores improved continuously. The passing rate of CET-4 increased from 47.3% to 95% in recent years.

In recent three years, the teaching reform of our department has achieved remarkable results. The application of multimedia teaching means and the student-centered classroom teaching mode have been well received by students. In the process of using teaching materials, we actively introduce and constantly develop teaching courseware to make teaching materials more knowledgeable, ideological and interesting.

In 2003, we carried out a pilot of graded teaching for students in some departments. On the basis of constantly summing up experience, in 2006, we fully implemented graded teaching, created a platform for personality development for students from different starting points, and optimized the allocation of teachers. In addition, in order to further improve students' autonomous learning ability, we have established an autonomous learning center, opened an English corner and launched an English teaching radio station.

In recent years, more than 300 papers and translations have been published, more than 30 monographs, editors and translations have been published, among which more than 30 papers have been published in national core journals.

Due to their excellent work, all comrades have been commended by their superiors for more than ten times. They have won the titles of "advanced grass-roots party organization of the whole province" issued by Anhui provincial Party committee and "advanced teaching unit of colleges and universities of the whole province" issued by Provincial College Working Committee and education Committee. In 2003, they were awarded "National Women's civilization demonstration post".

At present, all teaching and administrative staff are earnestly implementing the party's educational policy with full enthusiasm to meet the challenges of the new era.
