Le Guo Restaurant

LeGuo restaurant is located in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. LeGuo is not a place name. It is a small pub in xitangshao Hong Kong in the early 1920s. Originally, it was not called Yue Guo, because at that time a group of literati in the town often went to this shop to drink, write poems, drink and sing. It was jokingly named by Yu Shimei, a scholar in Xitang. It means a happy place, a paradise. On November 6, 1922, Liu Yazi, the then Nanshe poet, came to Xitang to practice his appointment. Together with Yu Shimei, Shen Yuzhong and Li Dasan, the Nanshe friends of Xitang, he chanted poems and drank wine in the "Le Guo restaurant". He drank happily day and night in the small building for three days. This time, Liu Yazi wrote 35 poems and printed them into a volume of poetry collection "Yue Guo Yin". Things change and people change. Today, the LeGuo restaurant (inn) in Shaoxiang port is more magnificent than that in those days. It has rich and distinctive dishes and wine. It has the best of both meals and accommodation.
