Cailou site

Cailou site is located in the southeast of cailou village, Huqiao Township, Xiayi county. It is 5 meters above the ground, square and more than 100 meters long. In the lower layer, there are pottery pieces, shells, feet and net pendants of Shang and Zhou Dynasties; in the middle layer, there are tombs of Han Dynasty; in the upper layer, there are disturbed soil layers of ancient temples. In 1976, when digging, the masses found a small brick chamber tomb, unearthed some pottery, and later excavated a portrait stone tomb in the north of the tomb. The site belongs to the Shang and Zhou cultural sites (later broken by Han Tombs) and is a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level.
