Lin Shan Grottoes

Linshan Grottoes is located in Linshan, Sanji Township, Pingshan County, 30 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang city. There are four Buddhist grottoes, of which No.1, No.2 and No.3 are located in Xilin mountain, commonly known as thousand Buddha Hall and ten thousand Buddha Hall; No.4 is located in Donglin mountain, commonly known as stone Buddha Hall. 1、 Cave 2 was first excavated in the Song Dynasty, and caves 3 and 4 in the Ming Dynasty. There are 135 Buddha statues in cave 1, 925 Buddha statues in cave 2, 1035 Buddha statues in cave 3 and 130 Buddha statues in Cave 4. There are two kinds of grotto statues: round and relief. Some of the characters are kind-hearted, some are vicious and ugly, some are happy, some are sad, some are fat, some are thin, various and vivid, which is one of the precious ancient sculpture works in our country.

Linshan grottoes are located in the East and west of Pingshan County, Hebei Province. There are four caves, including one in Donglin mountain and three in Xilin mountain, and more than 2000 statues.

Donglin Mountain Grottoes, also known as "stone Buddha Hall", are located on the hillside of Donglin mountain. They were excavated in the Ming Dynasty, with a width of 3.6 meters, a depth of 3.35 meters and a height of 1.7 meters. The roof of the cave is carved into a tiled wooden structure. The main wall is carved with "one Buddha and two disciples" and the four walls are carved with 130 Buddha statues. The three caves in Xilin mountain are also called "hundred Buddha Hall", "Thousand Buddha Hall" and "ten thousand Buddha Hall". Located in the north of the mountain top, the hundred Buddha Hall is 3.45 wide, 2.85 deep and 2.28 meters high. In the middle of the hall, there is a white marble Buddha statue. Xitou is stolen and disappeared. 135 Buddha statues are carved on the four walls. "Thousand Buddha Hall" is also located on the top of the mountain. It was excavated in the Song Dynasty, with a width of 3.4 meters, a depth of 2.7 meters and a height of 2.1 meters. 925 Buddha statues are carved on the four walls, and there are scriptures and chronological inscriptions around the Buddha statues. Located at the foot of the mountain, Wanfo hall was excavated in the Ming Dynasty. It is 3.57 meters wide and 2.8 meters deep. The original three stone Bodhisattvas on the main wall have disappeared, and 1017 large and small Buddha statues have been carved on the four walls.
