Shandong Art Museum

Established in June 1977, Shandong Provincial Art Museum is a national institution led by Shandong Provincial Department of culture. It is located in the prosperous area of Jinan City, covering an area of 12000 square meters, with 2300 square meters of exhibition buildings and 2000 square meters of office buildings. There are seven functional departments: Exhibition Department, art creation department, New Year pictures research department, mass art work department, storage department, office and administration department. Shandong art museum is a non-profit social public welfare undertaking, which belongs to the Museum of plastic arts. It has the functions of collecting and displaying fine arts, meeting the aesthetic needs of the masses, organizing academic research, and carrying out international cultural exchanges. Under the leadership of the party and governments at all levels, Shandong Provincial Art Museum adheres to the direction of "literature and art serve the people and socialism" and the policy of "a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend". Since its establishment, the museum has collected more than 500 pieces of modern and contemporary art works and more than 2000 pieces of folk art works, held more than 800 exhibitions and received more than 3 million visitors. Xu Kang, a famous fan painter, was born in Jinan in 1961 and his ancestral home is Shouguang, Shandong Province. Graduated from East China Normal University, he is now a professional painter of Shandong Art Museum, director of collection department, member of China Artists Association, director of Shandong Artists Association and senior painter of Shandong Academy of painting. He has held individual and joint exhibitions in Jinan, Beijing, Dalian, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Canada, the United States, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Australia and other countries and regions. The TV station has made many feature films, which were broadcast on TV stations and Internet in Shandong and the United States respectively. His works have participated in many art exhibitions at home and abroad and won awards. "Children's dream" won the highest award in the national art exhibition. The works are collected by former German Prime Minister Kohl, Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa, Australian Prime Minister Howard, Australian Minister of immigration Ruddock and many people from friendly countries.
