In 959, the local government reconstructed and expanded the temple to form the "new Wu Temple of empress Zetian of Tang Dynasty". At that time, the huangze temple was located near the river, including the "Zetian gate", "Tianhou toilet building", "yuelou" (theater building), Maitreya hall and Tieguanyin hall.

Since then, many buildings have been destroyed, most of which are in Qing Dynasty. Huangze temple has been built for more than 1300 years. Its main buildings include gate, Ersheng hall, Zetian hall, Buddha tower, luzu Pavilion, and five Buddha Pavilion.
