Emperor Shunzhi bestowed the title of "Hualin Chan Temple"; his disciple, Chan Master Yuanjue, left the magic sea. In the 17th year of Shunzhi (1660), Emperor Shunzhi bestowed another 22 Buddhist relics to Hualin temple. Forty years later, Emperor Kangxi ordered Hualin temple to build a special hall and pagoda for the worship of 22 Buddhist relics. In the seventh lunar month of the 40th year of Kangxi (1701), Hualin Temple held a grand ceremony for the worship of the hall and the Buddhist relics.
