Historical evolution

In 1379, Zheng Yuan, the magistrate of Haifeng County, built Xuegong (Red Palace) and shecang (Red Square)

In Qing Dynasty, shecang was renamed Dongcang

In the late Qing Dynasty, Dongcang collapsed and became Caopu, which was renamed dongcangpu

In October 1927, under the leadership of CPC Dongjiang special committee and Peng Pai and the cooperation of Nanchang Uprising Army Red second division, hailufeng people held the third armed uprising (after the second armed uprising in April and September), and successfully established the hailufeng Soviet government. Xuegong (the former site of haifenghonggong and Hongchang) became the revolutionary activity place of hailufeng Soviet regime

From November 18 to 21, the workers, peasants and soldiers' Congress of Haifeng County was held in Xuegong (the former site of Haifeng Red Palace and Red Square), with 311 workers, peasants and soldiers' representatives

History and culture

The king of the peasant movement

In November 1927, Peng Pai led the establishment of the Hai Lu Feng Soviet regime. In the first half of 1928, the peasant armed forces led by Peng Pai, together with some troops of the fourth red division of Guangzhou Uprising army led by Ye Yong and Xu Qianxiang, carried out armed struggle in hailufeng, Puning, Huilai and Chaozhou, expanded revolutionary bases and consolidated and defended the Soviet regime. In November 1928, Peng Pai was elected a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. He was ordered to go to Shanghai to serve as secretary of the Agricultural Committee of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee, and Secretary of the Military Commission of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee. In August 1929, Peng Pai was arrested for betraying and was detained in Shanghai Longhua prison. In prison, he was unyielding and fought bravely. Facing the threat of death, he said: "as long as I have a breath, I will fight to the end for the cause of Communism!" He firmly said: "in the near future, we will be able to overthrow the reactionary rule and establish the Soviet regime in the whole country." "even if we sacrifice our lives for our children and grandchildren, we will not hesitate to fight for a happy life." on August 30, Peng Pai and his comrades Yang Yin, Yan Changyi and Xing Shizhen sang the international song, shouting "down with imperialism!"
