Puqian town is a national famous historical and cultural town. It is one of the four ancient towns in Hainan Province. It has a long history and profound cultural heritage. It is located in the northernmost part of Wenchang City, Hainan Province, which is also the northernmost part of Hainan Province. It covers an area of 134.7 square kilometers. It is surrounded by the sea in the East, West and North, with a coastline of 38 kilometers. It is surrounded by rivers in the south, adjacent to Jinshan Town and luodou farm, and across the sea from Meilan District of Haikou. The town has 4 polders, 12 village (neighborhood) committees and 154 natural villages, with a total of about 42000 people and 90000 overseas Chinese. 1. Land resources. The town has 38000 mu of arable land and 9 million mu of coastal sandy land

It is suitable for planting rice, fruits, melons and vegetables, tropical economic crops, high and low pond mariculture, etc. There are 5.14 million cubic meters of water stored in Longfeng small (I) reservoir and 5 million cubic meters of water stored in Zhuxi River Sluice irrigation area, providing water conservancy guarantee for large-scale agricultural production.

2. Aquatic resources. The town has a coastline of 38 kilometers long, with an available beach and shallow sea area of more than 12000 mu. There is a lot of room for development and utilization. The water quality is very good. There are many kinds of aquatic products, such as Mayou, mackerel, ZhangXiong, Haili, cuttlefish, lobster, prawn, crab, sand worm, shellfish, abalone and so on.

3. Mineral resources. The town is rich in titanium ore, zircon, quartz sand, etc. it is proved that the reserve of titanium ore is about 940000 tons. According to experts' estimation, if the titanium ore in Puqian is reasonably mined and deeply processed, the output value can reach 2.7 billion yuan.

Tourism resources. The town has mulantou scenic spot, Dongzhaigang and mangrove reserve, "undersea village", Qixingling Pagoda - "doubing pagoda" built in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, Qixingling Temple of shengniang, Xibei academy built in Qing Dynasty, and Shengli Street with Nanyang style.

Infrastructure

1. Transportation. The traffic of the town is developed, and every village is open to traffic. It is only 50 km from Puqian to Meilan Airport, with asphalt road and waterway transportation. It is only 18 nautical miles from Puqian to Haikou.

2. Communications. Communication in the town is relatively developed, 90% of the villages are connected with program-controlled telephone, there are five mobile phone transmitting and receiving stations in the town, and mobile phone signals almost cover the whole town.

3. Power supply. The polder towns and villages of the town have formed a power supply network, and the transformation of rural power grid in the whole town has been completed. The 110000V and 35000v substations can fully meet the electricity demand of the whole town.

4. Ports and beaches. There are three natural ports in the town: Mulan port, Puqian port and Xinbu port, among which Mulan port has the most development and tourism value. According to the research of experts sent by the state, it can build 15 berths of 30000 to 50000 tons. The harbor in front of the shop has clear water and stable tide. The beach is flat and wide. The sand is fine white and soft. It is a good place for swimming and sunbathing.
