Xinhua College of Sun Yat sen University (College Code: 13902) is a multidisciplinary Independent College (JFH [2005] No. 68) established by Sun Yat sen University and Guangdong Dongbao group company in accordance with the spirit of JF [2003] No. 8 issued by the Ministry of education and approved by the Ministry of education.

The college has two campuses. Guangzhou campus is located at the junction of Longdong Huamei road and Guangshan No.1 Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, with a planned area of 385 mu, complete teaching facilities and convenient transportation. It is interconnected with the campus network of Sun Yat sen University and shares the rich information resources of Sun Yat sen University.

Dongguan campus is located in Machong Town, Dongguan City, a river away from Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, with a planning area of 1800 mu, including 1200 mu of teaching land and 600 mu of supporting facilities. The first phase of the project has been completed and put into use. The campus is across the river from Guangzhou. It is about 40 minutes' drive away from the Guangzhou Campus of Xinhua College of Sun Yat sen University and the South Campus of Sun Yat sen University. There are direct school buses between the campus and the Guangzhou Campus and the South Campus of Sun Yat sen University every day. It has convenient transportation, developed communication network, perfect living facilities, surrounded by water on three sides, and beautiful natural ecological environment. The college has obtained the authorization qualification of bachelor's degree, and the students have completed the credits specified in the teaching plan and met the graduation requirements. They are allowed to graduate and awarded the graduation certificate of Xinhua College of Sun Yat sen University. According to the No. 26 order issued by the Ministry of education in 2008, the bachelor's degree and degree certificate of Xinhua College of Sun Yat sen University are awarded to the graduates who meet the requirements of bachelor's degree.
