Guangxi Medical University is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on the coast of the beautiful South Lake, covering an area of 857.47 mu. Founded in 1934, it is one of the earliest medical colleges in China. There are 19 secondary colleges, 4 directly affiliated hospitals, 7 non directly affiliated hospitals, 48 teaching hospitals and preventive medicine practice bases. There are undergraduate programs in clinical medicine (including oncology, anesthesiology, and medical imaging), preventive medicine, Stomatology, pharmacy, nursing, information management and information system (Medicine), and medical laboratory, as well as Five-year Higher Vocational Colleges (Specialties) in pharmacy, nursing, and "3 + 2" form. With the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, seven-year clinical medical students were recruited nationwide in 2000. The school has 55 teaching and research departments, offering 280 courses, including 7 provincial excellent courses and 9 key courses during the 10th Five Year Plan period. The school has 7 provincial key disciplines and 2 provincial key construction laboratories. In 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of personnel of the people's Republic of China, the first mobile post doctoral research station in Guangxi universities, clinical medicine, was established. There are 1029 teaching staff and 536 full-time teachers, including 90 with senior professional titles, 158 with deputy senior professional titles, 221 with intermediate professional titles and 67 with junior professional titles. There are 2182 medical staff in the four affiliated hospitals, including 391 with senior and Deputy titles. The university has 121 doctorates and 384 masters. There are 44 doctoral supervisors and 480 master supervisors. At present, there are more than 10000 students in the University, including doctoral students, master students, undergraduates, junior college students and international students. In addition to the first-class Guangxi Medical Science Experimental Center, Guangxi standard experimental animal center and school information center, the school has well-equipped morphological laboratory, physiological function laboratory, modern multimedia classroom, voice room and computer classroom, gymnasium, sports ground, swimming pool and other facilities. The school has the largest medical library in Guangxi, with 850000 books. It has realized the computer network management, and can search the domestic and foreign medical literature database and access the relevant books and literature information at home and abroad on the Internet. The broadband network of the school information center connects the school and its affiliated units and families into a campus network and connects with the Internet. It can carry out a wide range of information exchange inside and outside the school and at home and abroad, and realize paperless office. Since 1998, the university has undertaken 981 natural science research topics at or above the Department and bureau level, including 28 at the national level, 302 at the provincial and ministerial level, 468 at the Department and bureau level, and 29 at the horizontal level 81 science and technology progress awards were awarded, including one national level award. The school's teachers are the chief editor, deputy chief editor and participant in the compilation of 30 monographs and textbooks.
