Zhang's traditional Chinese medicine bone injury therapy was founded by Zhang Yongji of Fuyang, Zhejiang Province in the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty. It is characterized by manipulative reduction, external fixation with Chinese fir skin splint, and treatment with baicaoshang ointment.

It has been more than 170 years since Zhang Yongji (1788-1862) founded Zhang's Department of orthopedics and traumatology. By the fourth generation of Zhang Shaofu (1922-1992) and the fifth generation of Zhang Yuzhu (1948 -), Zhang's traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) bone injury therapy gradually formed a bone injury diagnosis and treatment system characterized by "overall syndrome differentiation, manipulative reduction, fir skin fixation, internal and external treatment, equal emphasis on muscles and bones, combination of movement and static, and functional exercise". With unique bone setting techniques and obvious characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, Zhang's TCM bone injury therapy has greatly reduced the cost of treatment and made great progress in society The benefit is remarkable.

Zhang Shaofu used to be a visiting researcher of Zhejiang Province famous veteran TCM and Institute of orthopedics and traumatology of Chinese Academy of TCM sciences. Zhang Yuzhu, director of TCM, is the academic inheritance instructor of the fourth batch of national veteran TCM experts and Zhejiang Province famous TCM. Through the form of "teacher leading apprentice", they cultivated a group of younger brothers, which made Zhang's TCM orthopedics and traumatology inheritance and development.
