Pingdingshan College of education is a public adult college with the enrollment qualification and teacher training of general and adult higher education, which is officially approved and filed by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. In September 2002, with the approval of the provincial government, Pingdingshan normal school was merged with Pingdingshan normal school to form a new Pingdingshan Institute of education. After the reorganization of educational resources, the scale of running the school was further expanded, the teachers were more powerful, and the teaching facilities were more complete. At present, the college has 291 staff, 244 professional and technical personnel, 230 teachers, including 58 with associate professor title or above, 100 with intermediate title, 3 with special grade, 1 with national outstanding talent, 3 with municipal top talent, 3 with Zeng Xianzi Fund Award, and 1 with interdisciplinary leader. The college has 11 departments, including Chinese Department, foreign language department, education department, mathematics and accounting computerization department, physics and electronic technology department, computer science department, politics, history and geography department, biochemistry department, sports department, fine arts department and music department. The college has a complete set of laboratory, multimedia classroom, multimedia voice room, digital piano classroom, science and technology activity room, courseware production room, audio-visual reading room, computer room, gymnastics room, dance room, closed-circuit television monitoring system and advanced satellite receiving system. The campus LAN is connected with the Internet. The college covers an area of 108 mu, with 6571 students at all levels. Since its establishment, the college has trained a large number of primary and secondary school teachers and education management talents for the country.
