Shanxi Institute of Applied Science and technology is a full-time regular undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China on the basis of the former Xinghua Vocational College of Shanxi Province. It is one of the first batch of Application-oriented Undergraduate Colleges and universities in China and one of the first batch of application-oriented pilot colleges determined by Shanxi provincial government. It is another rising star of undergraduate education in Sanjin. Founded in 1991, the school adheres to the tenet of "survival based on quality and development based on Characteristics". The school is located in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province, a famous cultural city with a history of more than 2500 years. The new campus is located in the south of Shanxi science and Technology Innovation Park, beige Town, Xiaodian District.
