Tongling vocational and Technical College

Tongling vocational and technical college is a full-time public college. The college is located in the South Bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the ancient copper capital of China - Tongling City. Tongling City is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the north and Huangshan and Jiuhuashan in the south. Since the reform and opening up, the economic construction and social development of Tongling City have shown a rapid development trend, and various economic indicators are in the forefront of Anhui Province. The college covers an area of 1330 mu (including the new campus under construction), with a construction area of more than 150000 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 31.78 million yuan, the library has a collection of more than 420000 books, 56 professional laboratories and training rooms, 60 off campus practice bases, 16 multimedia classrooms, 580 teaching computers and a campus network. The college has four departments, including Department of management, Department of medicine, Department of information engineering and Department of mechanical and electrical engineering, and 34 specialties, including nursing, computer application technology, mechatronics technology, numerical control technology, e-commerce and accounting. At present, there are 335 full-time and part-time teachers, 96 with the title of associate professor or above, 65.5% of full-time teachers are double qualified teachers, and nearly 7000 full-time students.

In recent years, the college has taken the opportunity to meet the personnel training level evaluation of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China to increase investment and improve school running conditions. There are a number of provincial teaching reform projects, provincial key construction courses and 26 college level key construction courses. In 2008, 31 self compiled textbooks were published by national and provincial publishing houses, and 56 teachers' papers were published in national journals. Deepen the reform of practical teaching, highlight the cultivation of students' vocational ability, and significantly improve students' practical ability. In 2008, 17 students won the prize in the second vocational skills competition of the province; the passing rate of students participating in the vocational skills appraisal reached 93%, and the average employment rate of students of various majors in 2008 was 96.7%.
