Donghai College of science and technology of Zhejiang Ocean University was established in January 2000. It is a full-time regular undergraduate college operated by private mechanism with the approval of Zhejiang Provincial People's government and based on Zhejiang Ocean University. It was officially confirmed by the Ministry of education in November 2004.

The college is located in Zhoushan City, the former West Campus of Zhejiang Ocean University, covering an area of 328 mu, with a total construction area of more than 120000 square meters. According to the needs of the economic and social development of our province, Donghai University of science and technology sets up its major with market orientation. Those who meet the conditions for awarding Bachelor's degree will be awarded the bachelor's degree certificate of Donghai Institute of science and technology of Zhejiang Ocean University.
