Fujian Vocational and Technical College of foreign economic relations and trade is a full-time public university. It is located in Tingjiang Town, Mawei National Economic Development Zone, Fuzhou, a beautiful hometown of overseas Chinese. In 2004, with the approval of the provincial government, it was upgraded to Fujian Institute of foreign economic relations and trade. Up to now, it has trained more than 10000 foreign trade talents of all kinds, and has made positive contributions to the foreign trade cause of Fujian Province. It has been hailed as the "cradle of foreign trade" by Comrade Jia Qinglin.

In 2008, the college passed the personnel training level evaluation of the Ministry of education with the "excellent" level; in 2008, it won the title of "civilized school" in Fujian Province for the third time in a row; in 2009, it entered the ranks of "provincial model higher vocational colleges".

At present, the college covers an area of 458 mu (another 250 Mu is reserved), with 5305 students. It has 6 departments (departments) including business foreign language, international economy and trade, logistics and information management, business administration, humanities and Social Sciences, and military sports department. It has 27 specialties (including specialized courses) including international business, international economy and trade, business English, business Japanese, tourism English, logistics management, economic information management, accounting, chain operation management, market development and marketing, community management and service It has formed a professional group with distinctive characteristics, which focuses on business, foreign language and management, integrates arts and science, combines economics and management.
